Alastair, I love that wine map without Portugal. Brings back memories of a trip to Iberia a few years back. We were in Spain and the weather maps on TV also had a blank spot where Portugal should be.
We Aussies, at least the more discerning of us are getting quite excited about the Arinto variety. Still just a few producers down here but it seems to have a great future as growers and winemakers are looking for more climate adaptable varieties. Cheers
Love that you guys are diving deep into all the Alentejo wines, becoming very knowledgeable of your local varieties. My mind still can't comprehend that the Portugese have been making wine for 4,000 years!
