For our first episode for our Portuguese wine podcast we visited the nearest vineyard to our house - Vicentino.
We posted that pilot episode here briefly to get some feedback - thanks to everyone who sent us your thoughts.
But we’ve taken the podcast down for now while we work on it and continue to wander the Alentejo for interviews and adventures. We will be pulling the whole series together and launching it here later this year.
Here’s a bit about what we found on our first stop…
Vicentino vineyard is owned by a Norwegian called Ole Martin Siem who started farming on the SW Alentejo coast in the 1980s.
He’s relatively new to winemaking, but is now one of the biggest Pinot Noir producers in Portugal and is doing something a little bit different.
We are trying to feature a bit of history and background on the places we visit and are experimenting with ways to best tell some great stories.
It’s a work in progress, but in the meantime we will be sending out occasional emails when we discover something we think you’ll love.
